Cookie Policy
The short version
- Apart from strictly necessary cookies, nothing is switched on until you agree in the cookie banner.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time.
- We do not sell your data. Read our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They help a site work, remember your choices and, if you allow it, measure visits or show advertising.
The cookies we use
Necessary (always on)
These keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. They do not track you. Our cookie banner provider, CookieYes, stores your consent choice in a cookie so we do not ask you on every page.
Analytics (only if you accept)
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier. They are used to tell visitors apart and to record sessions. We do not use analytics data to identify you personally.
Advertising (only if you accept)
Advertising from Google AdSense helps pay for the site. If you accept advertising cookies, Google and its partners may set cookies on your device to show and measure ads and to limit how often you see the same ad. If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalised using these cookies. You can see how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
How to change your choice
You can reopen the cookie banner using the cookie settings button that appears at the bottom of the page after you make a choice. You can also delete cookies, or block them, in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working. Browser guides for this are on aboutcookies.org.
How long cookies last
Lifetimes are set by each provider and can change. Your consent choice is usually kept for up to a year, after which the banner asks again. Google sets its own lifetimes for analytics and advertising cookies. See Google’s cookie information.
